“A Family Botanical : Digital Heritage as Artifact”

We live in a culture that identifies less with literal objects and more with the digital artifacts we leave behind.  Identities are cultivated within the confines of a social media platform. With this new frontier we must find new ways of preserving our digital identities. My designs represent ‘artifact as art’ and seek to speculatively evolve with our heritage in an attempt to ensure the preservation of our cultural identities.
The foundations of my designs are digital representations of online social media interactions. I used digital mapping software in order to create the maps that went on to become the core of each heritage piece.
