Are you muddled by Minecraft? Is it really worth 2.5 billion dollars? Are there any positive benefits to it? What happens when you actively engage with young people and Minecraft? Are you worried that your children spend far too much time in a world you simply don’t understand?
Lecturer Tom Flint has been studying Minecraft from a psychological point of view for the past 4 years. His latest project is a mixed reality game created in collaboration with Jupiter Artland and pupils from Ratho Primary School for the Edinburgh International Science Festival. This talk will cover 3 topics:
- A tourist’s guide to Minecraft
- Positive uses of Minecraft.
- Jupiter Artland in Minecraft.
